Turks and Caicos Trip Part 1
This summer I was lucky enough to visit ‘Turks’, a quick trip and is now one of my most favorite places. Even the few rain showers we had during the visit was nothing compared to what I am used to in Vancouver.
The first thing I noticed was how clear the water was during the final approach into the airport, I could literally see to the bottom of the ocean! Once we landed, you actual de-plane by walking down the stairs right onto the ramp outside and into the warm Caribbean air. A quick visit with customs, where they laughed when I made sure they stamped my passport.
I was very lucky to stay at the newly opened Windsong Resort, where I was spoiled rotten with what I think is one of the best views from a hotel room on the island - a 1 Bedroom Oceanfront Suite. I didn’t want to leave! The staff at the hotel are fantastic and made you feel like they were welcoming you into their home.
The room itself was massive, the bedroom opened up to the wrap around veranda with a private outdoor sitting area. Inside the room has a flat screen TV, four poster bed with the world’s best mattress (I’ll go on more about that later), and large walk in closet. In the living area was a half bathroom and in suite laundry (who does laundry on vacation anyways?), luxury kitchen and appliances and a view to die for.
Now more about this bed. I don’t know what brand the mattress is, or remember as I think the staff told me, but I had the best sleep of my life. Such a good sleep in fact that I completely slept through my alarms. I recommend anyone to stay here just to sleep alone.
The View - the wrap around balcony and oceanfront put you right on top of the beach and overlooking the pool area. As the Windsong is located on a quiet section of Grace Bay Beach
